Dakota Carpenter signs on to be a “Heart Hero” during the Jump Rope for Heart Program, which raises money for the American Heart Association.

The students at Little Cypress Elementary recently took on the challenge to raise money for the American Heart Association by participating in the Jump Rope for Heart Program. Based on previous donations, Coach Karen Holmes set a goal for the school at $3,200. According to Principal Kayla Casey, “These students took that challenge seriously and with generous hearts, they not only met the $3,200 goal, but exceeded it by more than double. These determined children raised $6,752.37 for the AHA. Everyone at LCE is so proud of all who generously gave so much to help others.”

As a way to celebrate, the top donators in each grade level will “silly string” Principal Kayla Casey, music teacher Josh Leger, and Coach Holmes. The winners are Kayson Holcomb from kindergarten with $250.00, Anna Leigh Beadle from first grade with $360.00, Maddox Manuel from second grade with $225.00, and Dayne Anders from third grade with $150.00.

Mrs. Casey would like to thank the students, parents, families and friends for their contributions to the American Heart Association through the Jump Rope for Heart Program at LCE.
